Israeli Haaretz newspaper quoted source as saying that the Israeli army is focusing its attacks, which it resumed for the second day in various areas of Gaza, on the civilian leadership of Hamas, with the aim of undermining its ability to govern the Strip.

The source indicated that Israel believes this strategy will contribute to the destruction of Hamas’s administrative and governance capabilities, and hopes that the movement’s decline in civilian control will lead to the emergence of clans to take its place.

Israel resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip with a series of violent airstrikes, resulting in 419 deaths and more than 500 injuries.

The Israeli army announced that 100 aircraft participated in the resumption of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, and stated that the attack would continue as long as necessary and would expand beyond airstrikes.

In early March, the first phase of the 42-day ceasefire agreement in Gaza ended, while Israel evaded entering the second phase and ending the war, which has claimed more than 40,000 lives since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
