The prominent Israeli journalist and author Gideon Levy, in his recent article in Haaretz newspaper, raised a question in which he assumed that if US President Donald Trump proposed establishing camps for the people of the Gaza Strip to die in, what would happen then?

Levy answers this question by saying that the leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, will announce that he will go to Washington to present a complementary plan similar to the one he presented regarding the displacement of the Palestinians, and the former member of the Israeli War Cabinet, Benny Gantz, will describe the plan as reflecting creative thinking, and it’s original and interesting.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich will say, “God has done wonders for us and we are happy,” and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s popularity will rise in the polls, Levy imagines in his article.

Levy concludes that it’s no longer a hypothesis, as Trump won’t explicitly propose establishing death camps, although he has already agreed to Israel continuing to wage a war that isn’t a war but a barbaric assault on a desolate piece of land.

It’s believed that from this point on the road to annihilation becomes short, and Israel won’t blink an eye or care.

“After all that… No one in Israel rose up to tell the President of the United States… Thank you for your ideas, but Israel will never support the expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip,” Levy wrote.

According to him, Trump may turn out to be the American president who has done the most damage to Israel ever.

However, Levy added that no president has ever destroyed the last remnants of Israel’s morals as Trump has, warning that from now on, anything the US president approves will become a gold standard for Israel.

Levy wrote, sounding the alarm in the face of Israel, that Trump will leave one day, and before that he may lose interest in the issue, and Israel will continue to lick the wounds it suffered.

Levy described the resumption of war in Gaza – if it happens – as the biggest disaster facing the Israelis now.
