Israeli sources said that there is no progress in negotiations with Hamas, as the movement has shown no willingness to return to the negotiating table and discuss US envoy Witkoff’s plan.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said that Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

During the call, the two sides discussed regional developments, focusing on the release of hostages and the renewed fighting in the Gaza Strip.

According to the official announcement, Secretary of State Rubio expressed the United States’ “steadfast” support for Israel and its policies.

This statement comes as Israel prepares to escalate its military campaign in the Gaza Strip.

The Witkoff plan, drafted by international mediators, aims to release Israeli prisoners in exchange for humanitarian aid and a temporary ceasefire, but Hamas has yet to agree to its principles, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.

For six days now, the Israeli forces have been waging an aggression on three main levels, by targeting the political, security, and civilian leadership, having so far assassinated six members of the political bureau in Gaza, also focuses on disrupting Hamas command structures and undermining its ability to govern itself in an organized military manner.

The Shin Bet identifies targets, and the army carries out assassinations based on accurate intelligence.

Based on an assessment of the situation, the 36th Division began preparing for military action in the Gaza Strip, moving from the northern front with Lebanon to the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military leadership hopes that the attack on Hamas’s human targets will have an impact on the movement.

It’s also estimated that an attack on senior and mid-level positions could weaken Hamas and make it difficult for it to restore its military and governmental capabilities in the long term.
