France surpassed the threshold of ten thousand deaths by Coved-19 and ranks fourth among the countries of the world in terms of the number of victims

France on Tuesday surpassed the threshold of 10,000 deaths with Covid-19 since the outbreak of the new Coruna virus, which “continues to progress,” according to Director-General of Health Jerome Salomon.

This is an increase of 1417 deaths compared to the outcome of Monday: 597 in hospitals and 820 in nursing homes.

He added that the large increase in the nursing homes is linked to “being out of a weekend”.

Salomon said in a press conference that the death toll recorded in hospitals amounted to 7091 cases, an increase of 597 deaths within 24 hours, while the death toll in nursing homes reached 3237 cases, raising the total to 10328 deaths.

France ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of corona victims.

The only good news is that the number of patients in intensive care continues to decline with 59 people (compared to 94 Monday and 140 Sunday).

The medical staff uses this indicator for the number of people who are transferred or exited from the intensive care department to measure pressure on the health system.

“But we haven’t reached the peak yet, as every evening the number of patients in hospitals and those who are transferred to intensive care increases,” Salomon warned.
