The Coronavirus has killed more than 425,000 people worldwide since its appearance in China in December, according to a census conducted by Agence France-Presse according to official sources Saturday at 01:30 GMT.

In total, 425,282 deaths were recorded worldwide, out of 7,632,517 reported infections.

Europe recorded the largest number of deaths, amounting to 186,843 out of 2,363,538 case.

But Latin America is the region where the epidemic is spreading most quickly, with 76,343 deaths out of 1,569,938 cases recorded.

The Secretary-General of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean warned that the epidemic “could take us 13 years back”.

“We have to see how the health crisis can be avoided becoming a food crisis”.

Governments around the world are facing many accusations of mismanaging the emerging crisis of the outbreak of the Coronavirus or of delaying taking measures to contain it, while fears are increasing in several countries of a second wave of infections resulting from the rapid removal of isolation.

On Friday, the Beijing municipality closed two commercial markets and postponed the return of primary school students to schools, after recording three new cases in the Chinese capital.

In Europe, where the hour of reckoning has come, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte Friday, for nearly three hours, made his statements about the Italian government’s management of the new Coronavirus crisis.

Anger is also escalating in France, where about 60 complaints have been lodged against ministers.

On Friday, the former economy minister, Arno Montburg, considered that the country was “poor” in its performance and that “many deaths could have been avoided if the management of the health crisis was organized differently”.

On Friday, the United States recorded 839 additional deaths from the new Coronavirus within 24 hours, taking the total deaths from the epidemic in this country to 114,613, according to a toll prepared by Johns Hopkins University.

Data published at 20:30 local time (Saturday 30:30 GMT), the university that is a reference in tracking new infections and deaths caused by the Coronavirus, showed that the United States is the country most affected by the number of deaths and 2,044,572 cases.

The United States continues to record more than 20,000 new infections a day, and is finding it difficult to reduce this number.

Until the last month, three states located on the east coast of the country were New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts alone, reducing to half the number of deaths recorded in the rest of the United States, but since then the epidemic has moved to the Midwest and South states and part of the West.
