The Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi ordered that all the popular mobilization forces be part of the Iraqi armed forces and appointed its chief commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

Abdul Mahdi stressed that the decree obliges all armed factions to implement the new regulations by July 31.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also ordered, to close all the headquarters of armed factions inside and outside cities, and cut off the military wings ties and any relationship with the political wings.

The decree also prohibits armed factions that choose political action from taking up arms.

It’s worth mentioning that Shiite majority the popular mobilization forces was established to fight the Islamic state in Iraq, with large credit goes to them in the war against ISIS for the past four years, which lead to the total defeat of ISIS in both Iraq and Syria..
