Concern and anticipation in Israel over Ansar Allah’s response to the recent bombing that targeted Yemen
The Israeli media talked on Saturday about the fears prevailing in the Israeli security establishment due to a possible response by the Ansar Allah group to the joint Israeli-US-British bombing of targets in Yemen on Friday.
One person was killed, nine others were injured, and homes were damaged on Friday as a result of 25 American, Israeli, and British raids that targeted the capital, Sanaa, and the governorates of Amran (north) and Hodeidah (west), according to what was announced by the Houthi group and confirmed by Israel.
Channel 12 reported that the Israeli security system is on high alert, fearing the group’s expected response to Friday’s bombing.
Channel 12explained that there are real Israeli fears that the group will attempt to respond to the joint bombing in the coming hours.
The Israeli channel said on its website that the joint Israeli-American-British attack on Houthi targets in Yemen is the fifth of its kind since the start of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
According to the channel, Israel wanted, through the attack, to send a clear message to Iran that coordination with the American and British sides has risen to a higher level.
On Friday evening, the Ansar Allah website affiliated with the Houthis said in a brief news item that the raids on the governorates of Sana’a, Amran, and Hodeidah amounted to 25 raids.
In turn, the Israeli army said in a statement that air force warplanes, under the direction of the Intelligence Service and the Navy, raided targets belonging to the Houthi regime in the western coast region and deep inside Yemen.
The statement added, “Among the targets targeted in the raids were infrastructure at the Haiz power station, which is used as a central electrical infrastructure used by the Houthi regime in its military activities”.
The Israeli army continued, “Infrastructure was also attacked in the ports of Ras Issa and Hodeidah, in the western coast area”.
The Israeli army justified these raids by saying that they came “in light of the repeated attacks by the Houthi regime against the State of Israel, its citizens, and its civilian infrastructure, which include launching drones and surface-to-surface missiles towards Israeli territory”.
