Bulgaria will transport Russian gas from Turkey to Europe

Bulgaria will go ahead with plans to build a new 1.4 billion euro gas pipeline to transport Russian gas from Turkey to Europe.
The Bulgarian parliament gave the green light to the government company “Bulgar Transgas” to announce tender to build the pipeline, which will be 484 km long.
“What we’re going to do now is in full conformity with the rules and procedures of the European Union, in order to avoid the mistakes that in the past led to the cancellation of the Southern Stream project”, Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said.
The new gas pipeline is to be connected between the pipeline “Turkish part”, which is being built by Gazprom and European countries.
Gazprom is currently supplying 14 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey via Bulgaria in accordance with a contract until 2030.
