Biden: Arab countries are ready to fully recognize Israel in a future agreement
During an election event in New York, US President Joe Biden indicated the willingness of Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, to fully recognize Israel in a future agreement.
These statements come as part of his response to criticism directed at him regarding his policies in the Middle East.
Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama participated in this election event, confirming their support for Biden in the upcoming elections.
As part of his comment on foreign policy, Biden stressed that many Arab countries, including Egypt, Jordan and Qatar, are ready to fully recognize Israel.
He added that a plan should be drawn up for after the Gaza war, in addition to adhering to the pursuit of a two-state solution.
However, he stressed that these steps should not be taken immediately, but rather progress should be made slowly and gradually.
In the same context, US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, confirmed during his visit to Saudi Arabia last February that the Kingdom remains determined to strengthen efforts towards normalization with Israel, noting that this matter will require calming the situation in Gaza and striving towards a two-state solution.
This comes in light of the internal pressure that Biden faces from Muslim and Arab Americans, who want to increase pressure on Israeli military operations in Gaza.
In a related context, the International Court of Justice issued a decision demanding that Israel take effective measures to ensure the entry of basic food supplies to the residents of Gaza without delay.
The UN Security Council unanimously stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire and the immediate release of the hostages, but the United States abstained from voting.
At the same time, Israel announced its efforts to enhance humanitarian access to Gaza through air and sea landings.
