Axios: 60% of American young voters say they will vote for Harris compared to 40% for Trump
A new poll conducted by Axios website shows that US Vice President Kamala Harris is far more popular than President Biden among young voters in United States.
The poll, conducted after Biden stepped down on Sunday, asked respondents what candidate they would support if there was a contest between Biden and Trump, Harris and Trump.
Young American voters look set to be a key element in Harris’ ascension to the presidency.
Generation Lab CEO Cyrus Beschloss said, “Young voters could significantly boost Harris’ fortunes, as this data suggests”.
In the race between Biden and Trump, Biden moved 6 points ahead of Trump thanks to voters aged 18 to 34 (53% for Biden and 47% for Trump).
However, in a contest between Harris and Trump, the same respondents were split 60% for Harris and 40% for Trump, 20 points ahead for Harris, and 45% of young people say they have a very positive or somewhat pro-Harris opinion.
