The Turkish authorities arrested a Syrian refugee who wanted to flee to Germany with a forged passport belonging to a US diplomat through Istanbul airport.

Since the war in Syria erupted in 2011, many Syrian refugees in Turkey seek to escape to the European Union by taking dangerous routes, which has claimed hundreds of lives, while international organizations are seeking to put pressure on many European countries, especially Greece, to allow refugees to reach and prepare safe routes for them, condemning no brutal treatment against them.
