A Saudi delegation meets with Syrian General Administration Commander
A Saudi delegation headed by an advisor to the Saudi Royal Court met with Ahmed al Sharaa, the commander-in-chief of the new Syrian administration, at the People’s Palace in Syria.
In an interview he conducted with the Saudi Asharq al Awsat newspaper from the Presidential People’s Palace, Ahmed al Sharaa confirmed, “the Syrian revolution ended with the fall of the regime and we won’t allow it to be exported to any other place,” stressing that his country “won’t be a platform for attacking or raising concerns for any Arab or Gulf state, no matter who it is”.
“What we did and accomplished with the least possible damage and losses… set the Iranian project in the region back 40 years,” he said.
The commander-in-chief of the new Syrian administration expressed his aspiration for the advanced state of development that the Gulf countries have reached and that we aspire to for our country.
He added, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has put in place very bold plans and has a development vision that we also aspire to, and there is no doubt that there are many intersections with what we aspire to, and we can meet there, whether in terms of economic or development cooperation or otherwise”.
On this context, the Syrian media reported that the Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed al Khulaifi, will visit Damascus, as the Qatari Minister will visit the capital Damascus, Monday.
It’s worth noting that Qatar recently re-raised its flag over its embassy building in Damascus after a closure that lasted for about 13 years.
