For the first time since the outbreak of what is known in Iran as the war, the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) released detailed information about Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s injury on the first day of operations, thus ending weeks of speculation and ambiguity surrounding his health condition.

A health official confirms that Mojtaba Khamenei was transferred to the hospital immediately after being injured.

Hossein Karmanpour, director of the Public Relations and Media Center at the Iranian Ministry of Health, stated that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured and immediately taken to the hospital following the incident.

He added that upon arriving at the hospital, he learned that the new Supreme Leader had been transferred to a hospital on the first day of the war, and the good news at the time was that “the leader is alive”.

An operating room was prepared and fortunately the injuries were minor.

Kermanpour reported that the operating room was quickly prepared and all necessary medical procedures were carried out.

Fortunately, the Supreme Leader’s injuries weren’t life-threatening, but he explained that its normal for anyone present at the scene of such a powerful incident to sustain several injuries.

The injuries didn’t result in disfigurement or amputation, unlike what happened with the late guide.

The Iranian official stated that Mojtaba Khamenei’s injuries weren’t of the type that would result in disfigurement, death, or amputation, unlike what happened to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Karmanpour indicated that a few stitches were applied to treat the wounds, and the part that was stitched at that time was his leg.

A week ago, Mazaher Hosseini, the director general of protocol at the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader, revealed further details about Mojtaba Khamenei’s health.

Speaking at an anti-war rally in Tehran, Hosseini said that Khamenei had suffered bruises to his back and knee, but confirmed that he had recovered from some of these injuries and was in good health.

In his explanation, Hosseini addressed the details of the American-Israeli attack that took place on February 28, targeting the compound of the office of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and its surroundings.

He said, “On the day of the incident, I was in the office when the enemy targeted a location about 30 meters away from us, resulting in the martyrdom of the head of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s military office, Major General Shirazi, and his companions”.

He added that the airstrikes also targeted a location between 70 and 80 meters from the Supreme Leader’s office.

The bombing site would have barely accommodated the guide had he not been absent that day.

Hosseini stated that the raids leveled the place to the ground, and it was customary for Mojtaba Khamenei to give his lessons there, but he wasn’t present that day, which saved him from certain death.

His wife was killed during the bombing, and he was injured when he fell to the ground.

The Director General of Protocol at the Iranian Supreme Leader’s Office continued: “They later targeted Mojtaba Khamenei’s house, killing his wife, Zahra Haddad Adel, inside… He was on his way up the stairs when the missile struck”.

He explained that Mojtaba Khamenei fell to the ground as a result of the blast wave while heading home, sustaining some bruises to his knee and back.

He confirmed that the back injury has fully healed and the knee is expected to recover soon, emphasizing that he is in excellent health.

Hosseini denied the validity of the claims that Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured in his forehead, stressing that it was nothing more than a small wound behind his ear that wasn’t visible because of the turban, and that it had already been treated.

Hosseini pointed out that “the enemy wants to obtain a voice, image, or any other document about the new Iranian leader in order to carry out an action against him,” stressing that Mojtaba Khamenei will speak to everyone at the appropriate time.

Mojtaba Khamenei was elected to succeed his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed on the first day of the war.

Since assuming the position of Supreme Leader, Mojtaba hasn’t appeared in public, sparking widespread speculation about his health.

However, an Iranian official confirmed to the media last March that he had sustained minor injuries, while also asserting that he was continuing his duties.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also announced that he had met with the Supreme Leader for two and a half hours.
