The Iran War Cost Tracker website, which specializes in tracking the cost of the Iranian war, indicated that the costs of the American military operation against Iran have so far exceeded $55 billion.

The website stated that 50 days had passed since the start of the operation, as to date, US expenditures have reached $55.9 billion.

This website updates data in real time and calculates the funds required to maintain personnel and vessels deployed in the area and other related expenses.

The method of calculation is based on the Pentagon report submitted to Congress, which stated that the first six days cost $11.3 billion, with costs rising to $1 billion per day thereafter.

The US Navy began on Monday to impose a blockade on all inbound and outbound maritime traffic from Iranian ports on both sides of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world’s oil, petroleum products and liquefied natural gas pass.

Washington insists that ships not linked to Iran are free to transit the Strait of Hormuz as long as they don’t pay fees to Tehran.

Iranian authorities haven’t announced the imposition of fees, but they have discussed such plans.
