US President Donald Trump has said he doesn’t want the Kurds to join the war in Iran so it doesn’t become more complicated than it is.

He was responding to a question about whether the Kurds would join the attacks on Iran and whether they would establish an autonomous region as they did in Syria and Iraq if they entered the war, during remarks to reporters on board on Saturday.

“We’re very friendly with the Kurds, but we don’t want to complicate the war any further… I decided that I didn’t want the Kurds to come in there”.

Asked if he thought the map of Iran would remain the same after the attacks were over, Trump replied: “I can’t say that, but probably not”.

Trump noted that Iran is reducing its attacks day by day, claiming that it has suffered significant losses and may surrender.

He also touched on Iran’s suddenly apology for attacking Middle Eastern countries, saying, “I was very surprised to see that they did it, but we can record this as a victory for us and for the countries in the Middle East that are already our friends”.

Trump added that he believed Iran would no longer attack neighboring countries, saying, “They have apologized and we will see what happens”.

Asked by a reporter about any US troops that could be involved in a ground operation, Trump said, “I don’t even want to go into it… I think it’s an inappropriate question and I won’t answer it… There must be a very strong reason for this… If we do that, they will suffer such heavy losses that they won’t be able to fight on the ground”.
