After the Syrian army’s chant for Gaza… Israeli Diaspora minister: War with Syria is inevitable
Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli said on Tuesday evening that war with Syria is inevitable, amid the continued Israeli aggression against the Arab country.
This came in a brief post on his X account, in response to recordings of Syrian army soldiers chanting for Gaza, during a march in the Liberation Day celebrations on Monday, which raised concern within the Israeli security establishment.
Chikli, of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, wrote in a post accompanying the news of the Syrian soldiers’ chants for Gaza: “War is inevitable”.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli Army Radio revealed discussions within the Israeli security establishment with the participation of senior officials, which addressed the importance and significance of videos showing Syrian soldiers chanting aggressive slogans against Israel, and using the word “enemy” to refer to them.
“Israel is expected to take steps — including sending strong messages to the Syrian regime on this issue — and demanding that it condemn the recordings of its soldiers,” the radio said.
In the recorded videos, the Syrian soldiers chant phrases such as: “Gaza, Gaza, the slogan of victory and steadfastness,” “I’m coming for you, my enemy, to make ammunition from your blood and fill the rivers with your blood,” and “Gaza, Gaza, Gaza is a symbol, occupation and destruction, day and night”.
The Israeli Army Radio quoted unnamed Israeli security officials as saying, “We’re dealing with the Syrian regime with the principle of suspicion and suspicion”.
It’s worth mentioning, Soldiers from the new Syrian army chanted pro-Gaza slogans during a military parade held in Damascus on December 8, the first anniversary and Syria’s celebrations of the overthrow of the Assad regime.
