The death toll from starvation in Gaza has risen to 222 and dozens have been killed and wounded in the continuous Israeli war
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli starvation and malnutrition has risen to 222, including 101 children, after five starving Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours.
Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, preventing the entry of any humanitarian aid.
This has plunged the Strip into a state of famine, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders and the limited quantities allowed in, which do not meet the minimum needs of starving Palestinians.
Recently, the World Food Program warned that a third of Gaza’s population has not eaten for several days.
The WFP describing the humanitarian situation as “unprecedented in its levels of hunger and despair”.
The United Nations confirmed that Gaza needs hundreds of aid trucks daily to end the famine its suffering from as a result of the blockade and genocide.
Since dawn on Monday, the Israeli army has killed 23 Palestinians, including 10 children, in raids on the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a genocide for 22 months.
Throughout the night and into Monday morning, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations targeting buildings and facilities in the southeastern areas of Gaza City, particularly in the Zeitoun and Shujaiya neighborhoods.
In the central Gaza Strip, al Awda Hospital said in a statement that it received the body of a child and four wounded people after the Israeli army targeted Palestinian gatherings near an aid distribution point south of the Gaza Valley area.
In the southern Gaza Strip, seven Palestinians, all members of a one family, were killed in an Israeli drone strike on an apartment building in the western military camp of Khan Yunis.
