The Ansar Allah group announces targeting Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv

Yemen’s Ansar Allah group announced on Tuesday that it had launched two ballistic missiles, one of which was a hypersonic missile, at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.

The group confirmed that one of the missiles directly hit the airport, and announced that Haifa Port was among its targets.

The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a video statement on Telegram, “We targeted Lod Airport in occupied Jaffa (Ben Gurion) with two ballistic missiles, one of which was a hypersonic (Palestine 2) missile and the other a (Dhu al-Fiqar) missile”.

Saree confirmed that one of the missiles directly hit the airport, while the interceptor systems failed to intercept it.

He stressed that “the operation achieved its goals, forcing millions of Zionists to flee to shelters and halting air traffic at the airport”.

He said, “The decision to ban air traffic to and from Lod Airport remains in effect,” warning “the remaining companies to immediately halt their flights”.

In response to the Israeli aggression on the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, he announced that Haifa Port was included in the list of targets and warned all companies and various entities against dealing with it.

He added, “The enemy should expect more and more support and backing from us for our brothers of truth and loyalty in proud, sacrificial and redemptive Gaza”.

The group’s spokesman stressed their continued support for Gaza until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.

Earlier, the Israeli military announced that it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen after activating its air defense systems.

Shortly before that, the IDF’s Home Front Command announced in a statement that air raid sirens had been activated in Ashkelon, Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem, the greater Tel Aviv area, and dozens of towns in the south and center of the country following the rocket launch.

The Israeli Channel 7 reported that air traffic at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv was temporarily suspended after the missile was launched.

The Houthis affirm their commitment to continuing their attacks on Israel until it ends its 20-month-long war of extermination against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
