Russian President investment envoy: Trump stopped a third world war!
Kirill Dmitriev, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s investment envoy, praised the role played by former US President Donald Trump’s team in containing tensions between Moscow and Kyiv, stressing that their efforts contributed to preventing the outbreak of World War III.
In remarks on Saturday, Dmitriev said, “President Trump’s team has grasped the essence of the crisis and succeeded in achieving the first real steps toward de-escalation between Russia and Ukraine, by halting attacks on energy infrastructure, which signals the beginning of a path to a solution”.
He added, “There are constructive discussions underway between the two sides, as well as through diplomatic channels… It can be said with confidence that what has been achieved not only averts a global catastrophe, but also represents clear progress toward finding a settlement to the Ukrainian crisis”.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Friday evening that his diplomatic team is ready to travel to the United States next week to discuss ways to end the war and strengthen cooperation with Washington.
Zelenskyy said, “I expect to receive a summary of the proposed main points of the agreement at the beginning of the week, after which the technical team will be ready to travel and begin direct dialogue with American officials”.
During a meeting with a number of European military leaders in Kyiv, the Ukrainian president unveiled a new security initiative led by France and Britain aimed at halting the conflict, stressing that its details will become clearer in the coming weeks.
He said, “We held our first meeting to review what has been achieved so far in the context of the Ukrainian war, and it was a pivotal meeting… The coalition included several countries that I cannot disclose at this time, but it wasn’t limited to France and Britain alone… I believe we need about a month to fully understand the shape of this new security structure”.
