Ukraine, the United States and South Korea have accused nuclear-armed Pyongyang of sending more than 10,000 troops to help Russia in its war in Ukraine.

Ukraine said Saturday it had captured two soldiers, identified as North Koreans, and interrogated them in custody, without providing any direct evidence that the captives were North Koreans.

South Korean intelligence statements support Kiev’s statements, while no reaction has been issued by Russia or North Korea.

South Korean intelligence said one of the captured soldiers revealed during interrogation that he had received military training from Russian forces after arriving in November.

“He initially thought he was sent for training, but when he arrived in Russia he realized he was sent to the front.

The soldier said the North Korean forces suffered heavy losses during the fighting.

According to the Ukrainian intelligence agency, the two men told their interrogators that they were experienced soldiers.
