Israeli Broadcasting Corporation: The Israeli army engages in violent clashes with factions in northern Gaza
The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said on Saturday that the Israeli army is engaged in very violent clashes in the Beit Hanoun area, north of the Gaza Strip, with Palestinian factions.
This comes despite reports indicating significant progress in prisoner exchange negotiations between the two sides.
The Authority said that the Israeli army announced its continued advance northward in the Gaza Strip, amid very violent battles that aim, according to its expression, to comprehensively cleanse the area.
The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation pointed out, “the Israeli army’s military operations in the northern Gaza Strip are currently concentrated in the Beit Hanoun area, opposite the cities of Sderot and Nir Am, in southern Israel”.
The Authority said, “In recent days, there has been face-to-face fighting between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militants in the northern Gaza Strip, where 6 Israeli soldiers were killed there last week alone”.
