The Washington Post reported that at least 24 long-range Iranian missiles managed to penetrate the air defenses of Israel and its allies on Tuesday night, targeting at least three military and intelligence sites.

This came after analyzing videos and photos taken during the attack and its aftermath, which helped confirm the accuracy of the information received.

Sources told the Washington Post that 20 long-range Iranian missiles hit the Nevatim air base in the Negev desert, three missiles targeted the Tel Nof base in central Israel, while two missiles fell in areas near Tel Aviv, creating two craters in the ground.

The findings suggest that Iran has bypassed Israeli defenses to a greater extent than in April, when only two weapons were able to penetrate.

According to the Israeli military, it has detected 180 missiles fired from Iran, while the United States and Israel have said the damage was limited.

The Washington Post showed videos showing rockets streaming into the Nevatim base, with a bright flash as an Israeli missile stopped, and smoke rising above the damaged sites.

According to Jeffrey Lewis, director of the nonproliferation program, increasing the range from which rockets are fired could increase the error rate.

Satellite images from Planet Labs also indicate damage to the Nevatim base, showing a hole in the roof of an aircraft hangar and a number of craters.

Iranian media, however, reported that Iran used Qader missiles to carry out the attack and that the missiles hit their targets 90% of the time.

The attacks come as regional tensions between Iran and Israel escalate, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that the US is coordinating with Israel to respond to Iranian activities, with White House officials expressing hope that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will limit a potential attack on Iran.
