In the short term, the German government intends to provide additional military aid to Ukraine worth around 400 million Euros.

This was stated in a letter from the Finance Ministry to the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag.

The letter stated that this money will be used to purchase military equipment for the Ukrainian army, especially in the areas of air defense, drones and protective equipment, as the letter was signed by Finance Minister Florian Toncar (FDP).

In the letter, Toncar warned of the danger that Ukraine could lose its defensive war if it didn’t receive a significant increase in material support.

According to the German Finance Ministry, 1.42 billion Euros are still needed by the end of the year to support Ukraine, which is 397 million Euros more than the budget allocated for this purpose, which makes it necessary to obtain parliamentary approval for this increase.

For his part, Karsten Klein, a Bundestag member for the Free Democratic Party (FDP), the party holds the finance portfolio, hinted at support for the project, saying, “We keep our word… Ukraine urgently needs more military equipment and materials to defend its freedom and our values”.
