Greece and Türkiye are holding secret talks in Brussels

Greek media revealed, Monday morning, a secret meeting held between Greece and Türkiye in the Belgian city of Brussels.

The Greek newsbreak.gr newspaper reported that a secret meeting took place between, the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the Greek Prime Minister, Anna Maria Bora, with the representative of the Turkish President, Ibrahim Kalin, in Brussels.

The Greek newspaper wrote that “Ibrahim Kalin and Anna Maria Bora met last Friday in Brussels in complete secrecy and spoke in the presence of Jens Plotner, the diplomatic adviser to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz,” noting that the meeting took place despite a rapid increase in tension and threats.

The Greek newspaper added, the talks took place in the office of the German delegation to the European Union with an open agenda, without any preconditions, so that each side could explore the other’s intentions to resume bilateral relations.

It was attended by Jens Plotner, representative of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and a former German ambassador to Athens.
