A perfect opportunity came by the story of the Israeli couple who were detained in Turkey, as they accused of being taking pictures of Erdogan’s presidential palace, where they were released.

Although Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had described their situation as complicated, and the Turkish accusations were directed in favor of their work with the Mossad and espionage, they were released, and with the personal intervention of President Erdogan, the release was viewed by some as a gesture of goodwill from the latter towards Israel, and the improvement of relations.

According to Israeli media, it was confirmed that President Erdogan personally intervened to release the couple, and this intervention is confirmed by the thanks extended to President Erdogan and his government by Bennett and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid for his cooperation.

This incident, just for an Israeli couple, who were arrested in Turkey, showed the extent of the Israeli interest in its settlers, or even confirmed it, and the extent of Israel’s concern, when it comes to the arrest of friendly countries for its settlers, and the lifting of immunity from them if they commit the forbidden, amid doubts about the reasons for their real presence in those On the other hand, Turkey seemed to have a standing view as if it was quick to take advantage of a small arrest incident with a presidential signature, to restore relations with Israel, especially since the Israeli Prime Minister has not had a public conversation with Erdogan since 2013.

While recording positions supportive of the “Hamas” movement and his verbal criticism of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the president, taking advantage of his call with his Israeli counterpart, stresses the need to reduce differences between the two countries.

According to the Israel Hayom website, the UAE is the country that led mediation for the release of the two Israeli detainees, who were released.

Tahnoun bin Zayed has excellent relations with senior Turkish intelligence and intelligence officials, as well as senior government officials in Ankara and aides to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Israel Hayom website indicated that bin Zayed convinced Turkish officials that the Israelis were “innocent” and were arrested by mistake and that they don’t work for any Israeli security apparatus, which was confirmed by senior officials in Tel Aviv to the Emirati official.
