Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has affirmed his country’s intention to recover the 1.4 billion dollars it paid for the F-35 fighter project, and that it will not give up its rights to the project at all.

This came in an interview with reporters on the plane while returning from his African tour, which included Angola, Togo and Nigeria.

The Turkish president said, “after removing Turkey from the F-35 program, we’ll recover one billion and 400 million dollars by all means, and talks with Washington are continuing at a low diplomatic level”.

He indicated that he will discuss with his US counterpart Joe Biden the joint steps to be taken regarding the “F-35” issue during the G-20 summit in Rome, stressing that Turkey will not give up its rights.

Regarding Osman Kavala’s issue, who is imprisoned on charges of involvement in the failed coup attempt in the summer of 2016, the Turkish president likened him to the US billionaire of Hungarian origins, George Soros, within the international community.

“These people are working with the power of money to destabilize the place they are targeting, however they want,” Erdogan said.

In addition, the Turkish President stressed that his country continues to do what is necessary and respond with heavy weapons to the attacks in Idlib, Syria, indicating that they cannot let things go without interference.

This came in an interview with reporters on the plane, while returning from his African tour, which included Angola, Togo and Nigeria.

Erdogan stressed that they won’t make any concessions in Syria, and that they will continue to take everything necessary, especially in Idlib.

He added that at the present time, the Turkish forces’ operations are continuing in some sensitive points in the region, and that his country will do whatever is required, regardless of the position the Syrian regime will take.
