Most Americans want to isolate President Donald Trump or formally subject him to Congress, according to a poll.
These opinions came by a poll showed that 59% of those polled expressed their wish, The Hill newspaper reported Friday.
In contrast, 41% said Congress should not take any action against the president.
The survey was jointly conducted by the Center for American Policy Studies at Harvard University and the Harris Polling Center in the United States.
The poll included a sample of 1,473 registered voters and was conducted online from December 24 to 26.
The poll comes at a time when Trump faces charges of collusion with Russia in the 2016 election that brought him to the White House.
The federal prosecutors also accused Trump earlier this month of a separate case involving secret money being given to two women accused of having links with them in return for buying their silence.
According to US law, the removal of the president requires a majority vote in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
