US President Donald Trump on Tuesday expanded the travel ban on the United States, barring entry for citizens of seven additional countries.

The White House said in a social media post that Trump has just signed a proclamation that further restricts and restricts the entry of foreign nationals with the aim of protecting the security of the United States.

The additional countries concerned are Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, South Sudan and Syria, while full restrictions will be imposed on Laos and Sierra Leone after they were partial, and measure also targets Palestinians who hold Palestinian passports.

The Trump administration has already imposed sweeping restrictions on more than a dozen countries.

The Trump administration says it has concluded that it has identified countries whose verification procedures are insufficient to justify the suspension of entry in whole or in part.

However, the declaration provides exceptions for lawful permanent resident holders, valid visa holders and certain visa categories such as those granted to athletes and diplomats, and to persons whose entry serves the national interests of the United States.

Since returning to power in January, Trump has led a massive crackdown on irregular immigration, significantly tightening US entry and visa requirements, citing national security protections.

“The measures are aimed at preventing foreigners who intend to threaten Americans from entering the United States,” according to the White House.

The same goes for foreigners who may harm the culture, government, institutions, or founding principles of the United States.

Finally, the US president sharply criticized the Somalis, saying, “We don’t want them in our country”.

Last June, Trump announced a ban on nationals of 12 countries on US soil: Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

The US president praised Turkmenistan, one of the world’s most closed countries, as the White House on Tuesday noted significant progress in the Central Asian country.

Nationals of this country will once again be able to obtain US visas, but not as immigrants.
