The SDF transfers equipment from Syria’s oil fields to northern Iraq
Sources in the northeastern Syrian province of Hasakah revealed on Friday that the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) have transferred a lot of equipment from the Rumailan oil fields.
Workers at the Rumailan oil company in Hasakah province said: “For the past week, PKK elements have been transporting lights, generators, cars and oil tanks”.
“Today, they moved a large crane carrying 200 tons to the old field in preparation for transporting this equipment to the northern areas of Iraq through the Simalka crossing”.
The workers, who asked not to be named, added that PKK elements, since the visit of the Chief of Public Security and a delegation from the Ministry of Energy to the Rumailan field on the 9th of this month, have started transporting equipment, machinery and everything that can be transported, and they continue the transfer operations from the rest of the fields of Tal Adas, Karachuk, Suwaidiya and others towards the Simalka crossing and from there to northern Iraq.
A few days ago, they emptied most of the oil tanks by selling them and transferring them to Raqqa province and the countryside of Aleppo.
The workers appealed to the Syrian government to intervene to stop the looting of oil field equipment in Hasakeh province and its transfer across the border.
