The Guardian newspaper, wondered about the extent of Israel’s ability to avoid the mistakes and pitfalls it committed during its previous attempts at ground incursion into Lebanon during the July War in 2006.

The Guardian doubted that the Israeli army had realistic goals that it could achieve if it decided to launch a ground military operation in Lebanon.

The Guardian confirmed that Hezbollah is better armed than in 2006, and its fighters have become more experienced in combat, explaining that Israel is still falling into the same conceptual trap of misunderstanding the nature of the Hezbollah group.

The Guardian pointed out that the recent Israeli operations against Hezbollah leaders didn’t weaken its essence and vision, which is to continue resisting Israel and seeking to weaken it.

The Guardian explained that Israel suffers from multiple defects, including increasing fatigue, not only in its military capabilities, but also in the fatigue of its society after a full year of war.

The Guardian confirmed that the Israeli army boasted of its ability to fight on multiple fronts, but failed to achieve its goals against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and in the wake of previous Israeli wars against Lebanon, any Israeli ground operation is likely to fail to achieve its goals.

Earlier, Israeli media warned that the Israeli army would be exposed to a death trap by Hezbollah if a ground attack on Lebanon began.
