The US Responsible Statecraft website, which specializes in foreign policy analysis and is critical of costly military interventions, said that the war with Iran revealed that the US military is completely unprepared for a larger conflict.

This American website, which covers Middle East, Yemen, and Iran issues and highlights the failure of military strategies and the contradictions of the Donald Trump administration, added: “Today, everyone in Washington is competing to talk about the American missile stockpile… And there are good reasons for this… Once the fighting with Iran, which has already significantly depleted US missile reserves, is over, the question will arise: Is the US military capable of continuing to defend national interests? Especially in the foreseeable near term”.

It was noted that although the US military was able to achieve some tactical successes in Iran, the results of the conflict severely undermined the basic principles of US military strategy.

The website asserted in its article that events on the Middle East front have raised doubts about the effectiveness of the plans Washington has put in place to deal with serious emergencies.

The website continued: “The damage to US bases in the Middle East was enormous… Infrastructure, air defense systems, and ground radars were destroyed… Expensive military aircraft, including refueling planes and long-range early warning aircraft (AWACS), were damaged and rendered inoperable… In fact, the bases became so vulnerable that US military personnel could no longer be stationed there and had to work remotely from hotels”.

Last week, President Donald Trump unilaterally extended the ceasefire with Tehran until negotiations conclude.

On Saturday, he announced the cancellation of the Iranian delegation’s visit to Islamabad for a new meeting.

Later that day, President Trump claimed that the United States had received a new offer from Iran with more favorable terms.

However, Tehran has denied from the outset that there were any plans to meet with the Americans.

In contrast, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, indicated that his country wouldn’t participate in negotiations under pressure, threats, or a naval blockade.
