Israeli Press: Israel conceals identities of Jews arrested over Tel Aviv bus bombings

Israeli authorities are keeping secret the identities of Jews arrested by security services on Friday on suspicion of involvement in the bus bombings in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening.
The Haaretz newspaper reported on Friday, “Two Israelis were arrested on Friday night on suspicion of involvement in the explosions that took place on two empty buses in two suburbs of Tel Aviv”.
Haaretz added, “The suspects were transferred to the Shin Bet internal security service for questioning, although the court issued a gag order on publishing further details about the case”.
The identities of the detainees or the role they are suspected of playing haven’t yet been revealed.
Earlier on Friday, Israeli Channel 12 reported that one of them was suspected of transporting one of the perpetrators to the city of Bat Yam, where the bombings took place.
For its part, Ynet website, “Reports on Friday indicated that the Israeli internal security service arrested three suspects on charges of helping to plant explosive devices on buses in the Tel Aviv area, in what authorities believe was a failed terrorist attack”.
Ynet website, the online version of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, added, “Some of the detainees were also reported to be Israeli Jews”.
On Thursday, Israeli police announced that explosions had occurred on several buses in the city of Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, and that the background and circumstances of the incident were being examined.
The Israeli police said in a statement that it had received reports of explosions on a number (unspecified) of buses in the city of Bat Yam.
The statement said that the police were examining the possibility that the explosions were the result of a possible attack.
The Israeli media, including the official broadcasting authority and the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, reported that there had been two explosions in two locations.
Yedioth Ahronoth said that two explosions had occurred in two locations, causing fires on two buses.
