Haaretz: Yet another spy network working for Iran within military establishment arrested
Haaretz reported on Friday that the Haifa District Attorney’s Office in northern Israel has charged two reserve soldiers with transferring sensitive information and spying for Iran.
Haaretz said that an Israeli reserve soldier named Yuri Elissof transferred sensitive and important information to Iran regarding the Iron Dome system during the war on Gaza.
The Israeli newspaper explained that the second soldier, whose name was Georgy Andreyev, was working at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, and had also transferred important information to Iran, without clarifying what it was.
Haaretz indicated that the two reserve soldiers were charged with contacting a foreign agent, providing information that harms Israeli national security, and spying for Iran, pointing out that the two soldiers posted graffiti phrases such as “Children of the Spirit of God” in public places and photographed them in exchange for money.
Haaretz added that “Elisev worked in an important and strategic unit of the Iron Dome system and was exposed to secret information, as he filmed and sent a video clip about that system to Iran that included information described as secret”.
