Financial Times: Finland stockpiles military equipment in other countries

Finland who joined NATO on last April, has begun stockpiling its military equipment in Norway and will soon begin stockpiling it in Sweden and is considering doing so in other countries located far from its borders.

The Finnish Defense Forces’ Deputy Chief of Staff for Armaments and Supplies, Lieutenant General Miko Heskanen, made the announcement in an interview with the Financial Times, “We plan to store equipment in other countries, which is an issue of supply security and the distribution of reserves… We’ve already started this partially, and we plan to do so especially with Sweden and Norway, as well as with distant countries… We’re talking about equipment, ammunition and maybe spare parts”.

According to Heskanen, Finland has already started stockpiling military equipment in Norway and will soon begin stockpiling it in Sweden.
