Beijing: The United States is stealing 82% of Syria’s oil while Syrians are queuing to get it

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, announced that the US forces in Syria “steal up to 66,000 barrels per day, equivalent to 82% of the total Syrian oil production”.
According to a statement issued by the Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources, the average daily oil production during the first half of 2022 amounted to about 80,300 barrels, while the US occupation forces and their mercenaries steal up to 66 thousand barrels per day, equivalent to 82% of the total oil production.
Since the beginning of August, there have been at least 10 oil thefts, and about 800 tankers have been used to transport the stolen oil to US bases outside Syria,” noting that “in the meantime, the Syrians had to stand in queues for hours at gas stations”.
And he considered that “Syria is another victim of the US base-based system, just like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.
Because of this, the Syrian people are being deprived of their rights and lives instead of protecting them,” he said, calling on the United States to “respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and respond to the call of the Syrian people”.
Wang stressed out that “The United States should lift unilateral sanctions on Syria, stop looting Syria’s national resources, hold US forces accountable, compensate the Syrian people, and take concrete measures to address the pain it has caused in Syria”.
