The New York Times, citing informed sources, reported that Western intelligence agencies haven’t detected any evidence that Tehran is enriching uranium to produce materials used to make nuclear weapons.

“Western intelligence agencies have found no evidence of high levels of uranium enrichment to produce bomb-making material, or any other activities aimed at producing a real warhead,” the report said.

“Enriched uranium stored at three sites attacked in June is still present at the same sites and appears to be untouched,” the report added.

According to US assessments, Iran hasn’t built any new nuclear facilities, although activity has been spotted at two unfinished sites in Natanz and Isfahan.

According to Israeli and US intelligence agencies, the 2025 military operation delayed the Iranian project by between six months and a year, as the centrifuges at the Fordow facility remain malfunctioning.

Meanwhile, the official assessments of the US Department of Defense differ somewhat from US President Donald Trump’s public statements.

While Trump claimed the complete destruction of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, the National Security Strategy spoke only of severely weakening them.
