Politico reported that European leaders will discuss, in a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, sending European Union forces to Ukraine.

Politico indicated that European leaders are planning to meet with Zelensky in Brussels, to discuss peace plans and the possible deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.

Politico added that the meeting, which will be held on December 18, will be attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda, European Council President Antonio Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The event will be organized by Mark Rutte, will be held on the same day that the leaders will also meet at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Brussels, and will include a joint meeting and a number of bilateral meetings with Zelensky.

Earlier, the press service of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated that the West will deploy a so-called peacekeeping brigade of 100,000 personnel to restore Ukraine’s combat capability, as the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service believes that this will become a de facto occupation of Ukraine.

The Kremlin considered that the deployment of peacekeeping forces is possible only with the consent of the parties to a particular conflict, and the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the West’s plans to introduce military units into Ukraine are a provocative step and reveal the intention of Western countries to deepen the confrontation with Moscow.
