Spectator: What Trump will do after Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine using long range missiles to attack Russia?
The Spectator reported that US President-elect Donald Trump may reverse current President Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to launch ATACMS missiles deep into Russia.
“There is a good chance that Trump will reverse this decision – moreover, his camp has accused Biden of trying to ‘escalate’ the conflict,” Spectator said.
Stephen Chung, communications director for Donald Trump’s transition team, commented on the news that Joe Biden had allowed Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia, saying that only the US president-elect can push the two sides of the conflict to negotiations.
The article also noted that US officials believe that the possibility of using missiles to strike Russia is unlikely to significantly change the course of the conflict.
It’s noteworthy that the New York Times revealed, on Sunday evening, that US President Joe Biden had allowed Kiev forces to launch strikes using long-range ATACMS missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation.
President Vladimir Putin said earlier that NATO countries are now not just discussing the possibility of Kiev using long-range Western weapons, but are actually deciding whether to take a direct part in the Ukrainian conflict.
He added that the direct involvement of Western countries in the Ukrainian conflict will change its essence; Russia will have to make decisions based on the threats it will face in those circumstances.
