The Financial Times: Israel is running out of ammunition
The Financial Times revealed information indicating that the Israeli army is close to running out of missile ammunition necessary for the operation of the Iron Dome system, including Patriot missiles.
This is due to the forces depleting their stockpile in confronting Hezbollah’s missiles and drones.
The Financial Times explained that this deficiency in defensive capabilities allowed a large number of these missiles and drones to leak, highlighting the weakness of the Iron Dome.
It’s also confirmed that the United States doesn’t have sufficient reserves to meet the needs of Israel, which also explains Washington’s reluctance to meet similar requests from Ukraine, due to Russian control using its missiles and drones.
In this context, sending a THAAD system is considered one of the forms of US compensation for this shortage, and tanks and shells were sent to Ukraine as a replacement for the shortage of 155 mm shells.
“Israel’s ammunition problem is serious and if Iran responds to Israel’s attack and Hezbollah joins in, Israel’s air defenses will face significant challenges,” said Dana Stroul, a former Middle East official at the US Department of Defense.
Stroul added that the amount of interceptor missiles the United States provides to Israel isn’t unlimited, stressing that the United States cannot continue to supply Ukraine and Israel at the same pace”/
“We’ve reached a turning point,” she said.
