Reports confirmed, that more than 250 Ukrainian special forces and experts arrived to Idlib, Northwestern Syria.

Ukrainian soldiers entered areas controlled by the terrorist organization “Hay’at Tahrir al Sham” and are training its members to manufacture drones and participate in operations against Russian and Syrian forces.
Those Ukrainian experts were distributed to manufacturing sites and workshops in the city of Idlib and rural areas near Jisr al Shughour, where the drones are manufactured.

The Ukrainian military intelligence agency may have developed plans to launch secret attacks on Russian forces in Syria in cooperation with “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham”, led by Abu Muhammad al Julani, and includes Chechen, Uzbek and Turkestani attackers, all of whom have clear hostility towards Russia.

This move according to observers aim to create a new front for weakening Russia and forcing it to redeploy its forces and resources from Ukraine.

According to the Kyiv Post newspaper who had previously reported that Ukrainian intelligence forces had carried out an attack on a Russian military base in Syria on September 15.

The Ukrainian newspaper published exclusive footage showing an explosion at the base, which Russia had used to manufacture and test drones and produce explosive devices.

Sources indicated that Ukrainian special forces had targeted Russian military facilities in Syria several times in recent months, including the Kuweires airport east of Aleppo.

On the other hand, Russian media accused Ukraine of handing over drones to Hay’at Tahrir al Sham in exchange for sending members of the group to fight in Ukraine.

The Russian news agency Novosti reported that Kiev had asked experienced militant leaders to form combat groups to participate in the war against Russia.

In the same context, Syrian opposition sources indicated that foreign fighters had moved from Idlib to Ukraine to fight the Russian army, as about 170 fighters from several Soviet Union republics had left for Ukraine since October 2023.
