Russian officers inspect the Tabqa airport west of Raqqa

On Tuesday, November 24, Russian officers visited the Tabqa military airport in the western countryside of Raqqa to inspect its conditions.
Local media sources said that the visit is an inspection tour of the airport’s conditions and the possibility of establishing a base for warplanes there after carrying out maintenance of the runways and aircraft collapses.
The Tabqa military airport contains a base for helicopters of the Russian forces and the Syrian army.
The sources added that the Russians are working to equip the Tabqa military airport to search areas in the Syrian desert.
It should be noted that the Russians and the Syrian army entered the areas of the “SDF” forces in northeastern Syria, on October 13, 2019, after an agreement between the two sides to confront the expansion of the Turkish and their Syrian opposition forces under the Operation of Peace Spring.
