Russia responded, on Monday, to Israel’s condemnation of Moscow’s attacks on Ukrainian targets, Monday morning, criticizing the words of the Israeli Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, regarding Moscow’s targeting of civilians in Ukraine.

The statement of the Russian embassy in Israel said that Tel Aviv failed to do the same with regard to the Kyiv terrorist attacks on civilians in Donbas,” and about “a number of criminal acts committed by Ukraine”.

On the other hand, the Russian embassy stressed, in its comments, that “Russia’s attacks were a high-precision strike on the military control facilities, communications and energy systems of Ukraine”.

It is noteworthy that Israel, unfortunately, chose to remain silent during eight years of continuous Ukrainian terrorist attacks on civilians in Donbas, to turn a blind eye to the recent deadly Ukrainian attack on a refugee convoy in the Kharkov region, and the brutal killings of civilians by Neo-Nazis in Kobyansk and other cities.

The Russian embassy recalled the “evil killing of the Russian journalist Darya Dugin, the recent Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, in addition to a number of horrific crimes for which the Kyiv regime wasn’t punished”.

The Prime Minister of the Israeli, Yair Lapid, wrote on his Twitter account: “I condemn the Russian attack against the civilian population in Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine, and I send my sincere condolences to the families of the dead and the Ukrainian people”.

It is noteworthy that Russian-Israeli relations have witnessed tension during the past months, after Israel announced that it would “help Kyiv through thousands of helmets and shields,” accompanied by statements by senior Israeli officials, including the occupation’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, in which they claimed that Russia committed war crimes in Syria, Ukraine”, as Moscow denounced the Israeli allegations.

Earlier, the Israeli media spoke of “great tension between Russia and Israel,” against the backdrop of stopping the Jewish Agency’s work, noting that this matter was linked to “Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s statement regarding the war in Ukraine”.
