The administration of US President Donald Trump and his advisers, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have expressed concern over Israeli policies in the occupied West Bank.

The West Bank witnessed serious disagreements between the Israeli prime minister and US President Donald Trump during their previous meeting, the most prominent of which were the expansion of settlements, the suffocation of the Palestinian Authority, and settler violence against the Palestinians.

This is the first time in Trump’s second term that the issue has been raised in such a broad way, and the message was clear: change the policy to calm the situation, otherwise it will affect the end of the war in Gaza and the expansion of the Abraham Accords.

From his part, Netanyahu has spoken firmly against settler violence and promised additional steps, but it’s unclear whether that will translate into action.
