NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that they don’t see an imminent military threat from Russia towards a NATO member state.

This came in a statement to the German ARD channel, on Sunday, in response to a question about the allegations that if Russia wins the Ukraine war, it will attack a NATO member state.

Stoltenberg explained, “We don’t see an imminent military threat towards a NATO ally”.

Stoltenberg pointed out that NATO has greatly strengthened its strength recently.

“Of course, peace doesn’t come by itself,” the NATO Secretary General said.

“Although there is no imminent threat against NATO, we have made significant investments in our defenses,” he added.

Stoltenberg said, “We’ve increased the levels of readiness and strength of our armed forces, and for the first time in history we have restructured a combat unit… It’s the largest force reinforcement in NATO in a generation”.

Stoltenberg noted that NATO recognized the new reality that emerged after Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and adapted to it.

Stoltenberg noted that he expects Germany and all other allies to modernize, train and equip their armed forces accordingly.
