The Israeli Maariv newspaper published a report about the relationship between Türkiye and Israel and what Tel Aviv can do with Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa.

In the report, published by Maariv newspaper, quoting a US researcher: “The Turks hate Israel, so Erdogan must play his role as an enemy of Israel… Türkiye wanted to get rid of the SDF and the Israelis got southern Syria… The SDF’s usefulness to Israel and the United States evaporated when Sharaa seized power!”

In a sharp and controversial geopolitical analysis broadcast on Syriana Analysis by Kevork Almasyan, an anti-Western Syrian journalist of Armenian origin living in Germany, William Van Wagenen, an American scholar and freelance writer, claimed that “the reality in Syria is the product of a ‘cynical deal’ between the powers of the region in which Israel plays a much greater central role than the public knows”.

According to William van Wagenen, the hostility between Türkiye and Israel is nothing but a camouflage charade and its shocking that people are too stupid to understand it, noting that “the Turks hate Israel as expected, so Erdogan is forced to speak as if he is an enemy of Israel”.

In his opinion, “The Israeli project of toppling 7 countries in 5 years after 9/11 was part of Erdogan and he has always benefited from it, and the best way to understand this cooperation is simply to look at oil”.

According to the analysis, the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) were an “Israeli project par excellence” aimed at transporting oil, establishing a buffer zone, and even “aspiring to reach the sea”.

The American researcher added that a “Kurdish state” was supposed to be established on the whole of northern Syria, but the Turks intervened against the ambition of the Kurds.

“It soon became clear to the Kurds that their importance to Israel and the United States immediately faded as soon as Sharaa seized power,” he said.

The commentator points to Israel’s domestic politics and claims that “the Israeli government doesn’t care about the Kurds in northeastern Syria, or the Druze in its south, but its forced to pretend to care because of the Druze and Kurdish constituencies inside Israel,” while referring to an astonishing biographical detail about National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s most radical and crazy Zionist minister, who is Kurd but that doesn’t mean they really care.

“It’s said that the Syrians’ threats to Israel are nothing but rhetoric that serves their own internal interests,” William van Wagenen says, “For Ansar al Sharia it’s in their interest to claim that they will kill Jews and go to Jerusalem, because that appeals to the audience of these jihadists… The same goes for Israelis who say they oppose Sharaa, and look, he’s a terrorist and belongs to ISIS, even though Netanyahu’s closest friends welcome the Syrian president to the White House”.

“The Israelis went to Iran to assassinate Ismail Haniyeh, killed people in Lebanon on motorcycles, killed Iranian officers and generals, reached Yemen and killed the government there… How many senior officials have Israel killed in Syria? No one! Sharaa would be embarrassed if the Israelis recognized or acknowledged their close friendship with him. The Israelis can hunt the law like a rabbit”.
