The Israeli Commissioner for Prisoners and Missing Persons Affairs, Gal Hirsch, offered the leader of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Yahya Sinwar, and his family a safe exit from the Gaza Strip in exchange for the return of the prisoners.

“I am prepared to provide safe passage for Sinwar and his family and anyone who wants to join him,” Hirsch told Bloomberg.

“We want the hostages back… We want demilitarization, deradicalization and a new regime in Gaza”.

The Israeli commissioner for prisoners and missing persons affairs said that he had made this proposal a day and a half ago, but he refused to say whether there was a reaction and what it was.

Israel considers Sinwar one of the organizers and masterminds of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, one of the main targets of Israeli security forces in Gaza, and sources in the movement said that only two or three people know Sinwar’s location.

Earlier, the Times of Israel reported, citing Israeli officials, that Sinwar may be in tunnels under the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, confirmed that Israel is using prisoner exchange negotiations with Hamas and the ceasefire as a smokescreen to continue fighting in the Gaza Strip.
