A progress in US-Ukraine negotiations on ending the war
US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for Ukraine, Steve Witkoff, announced important progress in the meeting between the US and Ukrainian delegations in the German capital, Berlin.
This came in a post by Witkoff on X, in which he commented on the meeting that took place on Sunday to discuss the peace plan aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Witkoff explained that the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, and their accompanying delegations, lasted for more than 5 hours.
He pointed out that during the meeting, many issues were discussed in depth, foremost of which is the 20-point peace plan, in addition to an economic agenda and other files, stressing that important progress has been made.
Earlier this month, Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who reiterated his openness to negotiations.
On November 23, the White House announced an updated and revised draft peace plan following talk between the US and Ukrainian delegations to discuss Trump’s plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, without revealing details of the updated plan.
The basic of the peace plan was the 28-point plan that the US administration had prepared to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to media reports, Kyiv objected to several items in the proposed plan, including Ukraine’s relinquishment of additional territory in the east, and its acceptance of not joining NATO.
