US airstrikes targeting Houthis in northern Yemen
US airstrikes on Ansar Allah (Houthis) positions in Yemen have been ongoing for 15 days.
In the latest developments, the United States launched three airstrikes on the northern Yemeni city of Sa’ada on Saturday evening, as US aircraft targeted a meeting of the group’s leaders in Saqayn, Sa’ada.
In Yemeni capital, Sana’a, US aircraft targeted weapons depots in the Sanhan district with four raids.
Meanwhile, explosions were heard south of the Red Sea, off the coast of al Hudaydah and Hajjah governorates.
Earlier on Saturday, the Houthis said that US airstrikes on Amran and Sa’ada governorates had caused the complete destruction of communications stations.
The statement said, “Yesterday, Friday, the US aggression’s aircraft targeted the communications network in al Jabal a Aswad in Amran Governorate with five raids, and also targeted the communications network in al Labdah site in Sa’ada Governorate with a number of raids”.
According to the statement, “These aggressive raids on civilian facilities, which provide essential services to citizens, coincided with the recent deliberate, indiscriminate bombing of a number of civilian targets by the American enemy in a number of governorates across the country”.
The ongoing US airstrikes in Yemen, which Washington says are controlled by the group, have resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of people, as well as significant damage to public and private property.
