US Senate Investigations Committee Chairman Ron Johnson announced the launch of a formal investigation to identify the person who may have effectively run the country during Joe Biden’s presidency.

In a notable move, Johnson indicated the need to hold accountable those truly responsible for running the government during this period, confirming that he would soon begin issuing summonses to dozens of individuals who had direct contact with President Biden.

This announcement came after former US President Donald Trump, last Tuesday, leveled serious accusations against Biden’s entourage, describing them as traitors and claiming that they were aware of Biden’s physical and mental health problems but concealed them from the public.

According to several media reports, former President Joe Biden is suffering from prostate cancer, a treatable condition.

Oncologist Ezekiel Emanuel previously stated in an interview with The Washington Post that Biden’s prostate cancer may have been present since the beginning of his presidency in 2021, raising further questions about the transparency of the president’s health disclosures.

These statements sparked criticism of the official medical reports issued by the White House physician in February 2024, which confirmed Biden’s good health without mentioning any prostate problems.

Meanwhile, a recently released book, “Original Sin,” by journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, highlights Biden’s deteriorating health and the concealment of this fact.

The book suggests that the president lost the ability to perform his duties efficiently in critical situations during 2024, relying heavily on notes even during closed-door cabinet sessions.

In this regard, Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar revealed an unexpected behind-the-scenes scene between Trump and his predecessor, Joe Biden, in an official vehicle on their way to the Capitol.

Speaking on the “This Is Gavin Newsom” podcast, hosted by the California governor, Klobuchar recounted the details of what she described as a rich and conversational moment, adding that she was the third passenger alongside the two presidents in the same car, an experience that may have been the first of its kind.

Klobuchar joked that the conversation was very chatty, noting that she began by mentioning the recent California wildfires, which have caused casualties and forced thousands of residents to flee.

She added, “I knew Trump and Biden were coming to the state, so I thought it might be a good point of contact for them to talk about the disaster, and we expanded on a variety of topics”.

She noted that she was perhaps the only person to share a car with both presidents for nearly 20 minutes.

Trump has previously accused Biden of stealing the 2020 election, despite a lack of credible evidence, which has contributed to years of tension between them.

However, the moment of conversation inside the presidential motorcade seemed to be a temporary exception to this chronic tension.

In subsequent developments, Biden’s office announced that the former president is suffering from an aggressive form of the disease, the full nature of which wasn’t disclosed, but which has spread to his bones.

Trump responded by wishing him a speedy recovery, but didn’t hesitate to criticize Biden’s team, accusing some of its members of “treason” for what he described as concealing information related to the former president’s health and threatening national security.
