The Israeli army shelled the countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria with artillery
The Israeli army continued its attacks, shelling with 4 artillery shells in the countryside of Quneitra province in southern Syria.
According to the Syrian official news agency SANA, “an Israeli attack with artillery shells targeted the eastern Tal Ahmar forest in the southern countryside of Quneitra, and 4 shells were recorded,” without mentioning human casualties or material damage.
This came hours after the Israeli army infiltrated the countryside of Quneitra and Dara’a provinces in southern Syria earlier on Tuesday, following the Israeli army’s incursion into the countryside of Quneitra on Monday 3 times.
Damascus hasn’t commented on the nature of these incursions and their result, but it condemns Israel’s repeated violations of its sovereignty and affirms its commitment to the 1974 separation of forces agreement between the two sides, which Israel declared to collapse after the fall of Bashar al Assad’s regime in December 2024.
Recently, Israeli violations have escalated in Quneitra, with Syrians complaining about incursions into their agricultural land, their only source of livelihood, the destruction of agriculture lands and forests, as well as arresting civilians, the erection of military checkpoints and the search of passers-by.
Although the Syrian government posed no threat to Israel, the Israeli army has repeatedly infiltrated into the Arab country, launching airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed military positions, vehicles, weapons and ammunition.
